🏡 Hosting Tip: Amenities That Match Your Location = Happy Guests
Let’s be real—running an Airbnb isn’t just about offering a clean bed and Wi-Fi. If you want rave reviews and repeat bookings, you’ve got to think one step ahead. And that starts with one simple question:
“What will guests actually want to use while they’re here?”
I ran my own Airbnb for 3 years in Southern California, just minutes from the beach. And let me tell you—offering boogie boards and beach chairs made a way bigger impact than throw pillows ever did.
So I put together a location-based Airbnb amenities checklist to help you make your space unforgettable (without breaking the bank).
🌊 If You’re Near the Beach…
Don’t make your guests lug this stuff in from out of town. You’ll instantly win them over with:
Beach towels
Beach bag
Boogie boards or surfboards
Sand toys for kids
Beach chairs + umbrellas
A cooler (even a small one!)
Mesh bag or bin for wet stuff
Drying rack for wet items
Bonus points: a little sign with local tide info or surf reports
🌲 If You’re Near Trails, Mountains, or Parks…
Turn your Airbnb into an adventure-ready basecamp:
Daypacks or fanny packs
Trail maps (or QR codes to AllTrails links)
Reusable water bottles
Hiking poles
Binoculars or wildlife guides
Picnic blanket or mini cooler
First aid kit
☀️ If You’re in a Hot or Sunny Climate…
Keep your guests cool, safe, and loving every minute:
Sunscreen
Aloe vera
Wide-brimmed hats or umbrellas
Portable fans or cooling towels
Blackout curtains for naps
Extra water bottles or hydration packs
❄️ If You’re in a Cold or Snowy Area…
Think cozy, functional, and weather-aware:
Throw blankets
Boot trays or drying racks
Snow shovels or salt
Ice scraper
Hot cocoa + tea station
Firewood (if you have a fireplace)
Sleds or snowshoes if your place is near a hill
🏙️ If You’re in a City or Urban Area…
Small things go a long way in busy environments:
Public transit cards or how-to info
Reusable shopping bags
Compact umbrellas
Earplugs or white noise machines
Phone chargers
Local food or walking tour map
💡 Bonus Tips from a Real Host
Here’s what I’ve learned the hard (and helpful) way:
✅ Match your amenities to the season and guest type.
✅ Add little signs or sticky notes like “Feel free to use me!” Include list of items for use in guest book.
✅ Showcase these in your listing photos—yes, really!
✅ You don’t need to provide everything. Just anticipate what you would want if you were the guest.
